A basketball net knitting pattern by Andrea Evans, titled Diamond in the Rough in the New Craft Artists in Action (NCAA) Net Works publication (2014), was translated by Molteni into a color coded basketball handling score. Reading off of the pattern in real time, as a musician reads sheet music, the full pattern was performed, without pause or edits, using basketball-inspired choreographic movements. The piece is inspired by John Cage as part of a body of work that the NCAA created called BMC Allstars, creating objects and performances about basketball based on the work of Black Mountain College affiliated artists.
